About Memphis Beatz

Our Mission

The Memphis Beatz mission is to educate communities on the deep-rooted connection that Memphis has to music. Many Memphis-born artists have used music as an outlet to break the cycle of violence. It is only natural for younger generations to have an opportunity to learn just how valuable Memphis is to American music.

Memphis Beatz believes these deep impacts will help alleviate the negative image of Memphis and continue the process of restoring the Bluff City to its former glory. Memphis is famous for the influential strains of blues, soul and rock ‘n’ roll. Elvis Presley, B.B. King, Johnny Cash, Otis Redding, Bar-Kays, Isaac Hayes, Al Green, Jerry Lee Louis, Aretha Franklin, Justin Timberlake, Marcie White and many more where born or have originated there. What many people don’t know is how deep the roots and the branches reach. Nor do they know of the hard times that helped to make the soulful sound.

Recording artists throughout the world have recorded multi-platinum albums using samples of the Memphis sound of the legendary Stax and Hi Records studios. Memphis gave America rhythm with its unique drum pattern & sounds later used in samples used in the foundation for urban producers.

Memphis Beatz in the Streets

At Memphis Beatz, we advocate strongly for the value of formal education, recognizing its pivotal role in shaping a brighter future. We firmly believe that truancy not only hinders academic progress but also contributes to an upsurge in criminal activities. In response to these challenges, Memphis Beatz has launched the "Memphis Beatz in the Streets" program.  Our mission is to support and empower local families by providing access to essential resources, education, and community engagement. We believe that stable families are the foundation of a strong community. By helping families achieve stability, we aim to fight truancy and curb youth violence, creating a safer and more vibrant Memphis for everyone.

This initiative meets the youth where they are, engaging with them in the spaces they frequent, such as neighborhood stores and community hangouts. By taking education to the streets, we aspire to bridge the gap for those facing barriers to attending school regularly. Our team is dedicated to providing educational support, mentorship, and resources to empower these young individuals, steering them away from the pitfalls associated with truancy and guiding them towards a path of academic success and personal growth. Together, we believe we can create positive change, one street at a time.
